Lisa and three friends spent Christmas at Kittiwake. She wrote:

Very homely place, well maintained and obviously cared for. Loved the idea with the books. It was also great to be so close to the beach! Thank you so much for the welcome basket, the decorations and lighting the fire on our arrival. Was really a nice welcome!

Asked what could be improved at Kittiwake Lisa said:

Not much really, it was lovely! We couldn't find a clothes horse. (We're off to buy one! Pat.)

Lisa said they'd consider coming again and would "definitely" recommend the cottage and area to other people.

Cottage is wonderful with everything we needed for a family holiday, very relaxing and children loved the games room. Welcome pack was very good, enjoyed after a long journey to get here. Portreath area one of th ebest in Cornwall and the cycle path an added bonus. We look forward to staying at Kittiwake Cottage next year.

Jennifer B and her family stayed from 6th. August to 20th. August. She wrote:

We loved the beach and used our bikes a lot to get down. One day we scrambled down to Bassett Cove and had a picnic (n.b. only for the adventurous! Pat). We also went to Kynance Cove. We've loved the beaches and the ice-cream. We've been in the sea most days. The house was lovely and we enjoyed watching Harry Potter on the first night.

Jennifer would 'definitely' consider coming to Kittiwake Cottage again and would recommend the cottage and area to other people. She wondered if we could have more storage in the bedrooms for clothes. We probably underestimated what storage is needed for a fortnight - and are now looking out for another one or two chests of drawers.

Karen and family were at the cottage until August 6th. She wrote a lovely long review for us:

The cottage had good facilities, lovely garden, very nice kitchen/diner, good provision of information, cream tea a nice touch. Lovely tomatoes and courgettes from the garden - thank you. The children enjoyed the books and games. We saw a seal when we were in the sea at Portreath beach. Portreath itself has good local amenities.

Great beach at Godrevy. We enjoyed visiting the National Trust properties at Lanhydrock and Trerice, St. Michael's Mount. Good visit to the Minack Theatre, albeit a very windy one! We had an excellent meal at Hells Mouth Cafe - four empty plates!

Asked what could be improved at the cottage, Karen suggested a radio in the kitchen. Your wish is our command - there's now a new DAB radio there.

Judith M and family spent the first week of July at Kittiwake Cottage. Judith described the cottage as:

Very welcoming - we really felt at home here. My children had a lot of fun playing in the garden and with all the toys in the house. A perfect place for a family holiday!

Asked what could be improved she asked for more clothes pegs (already done!) and said Wi-Fi would be nice. Hmmn... We've resisted the temptation because we enjoy not being able to give in to the temptation to 'just check my email quickly' when we're at the cottage ourselves. With Portreath now having superfast broadband, we might just think about it however. What do you think? Let us know.

Carmen said they would consider coming again and would recommend the cottage and area to other people.

We arrived late in a snow storm to a warm and cosy cottage - thankful that the heating had been put on for us and a generous welcome pack to greet us. The four of us Toby **yrs, Helen **yrs, Leo 4yrs and Scarlett 9 mths soon settled in - at all times the cottage was warm, safe for young children with a large garden to explore, wood burner to relax in front of and the kitchen at the heart of the cottage to spend time over puzzles and games ( many provided).yes we loved the cottage there were even sharp knives to cook with! Such a well equipped kitchen!
Locally we could scoot down to the beach and explore the rockpools -
in the week we visited falmouth twice ( good leisure centre for 3+ yrs and Mums who have not been on a plume before) - national maritime museum good and reasonable food in the restaurant - St Ives close enough to visist a few times and very pretty, Eden Project a little further away(1hr) but worth the trip.
Lovely well equipped cottage - we had a relaxing winter break - top marks, thank you very much!

Vielen vielen Dank!

(Very, very comfortable and nicely decorated, inside and out. Masses of room, if it rains. Many nice extras, for instance the books, games, DVDs; the welcome pack. Altogether simply a wonderful cottage with character. We couldn't have done better when we chose the cottage and its location, Portreath. Many, many thanks!)
