Philip offers private home-based tuition in violin, viola and flute.  His music therapy experience means he brings a sensitivity to individual pupils’ needs, recognising that different people respond to different styles of teaching.  He has experience of teaching adults and children, beginners and more experienced players. 

Tuition can be based simply on being able to reach a standard to enjoy playing the instrument, or around exams up to Associated Board Grade VIII. 

He can also offer tuition in the folk style of playing, including authentic Irish ornamentation.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art.
